SyncVoice Communications, Inc. Expands Management Team
Veteran Executives Appointed to Support Rapid Company Growth
Costa Mesa, CA — December 6, 2006 — SyncVoice Communications, Inc. ("SyncVoice"), the leading provider of converged communications management software, announced the addition of three new members to their executive management team. Thomas Iwanski has been appointed chief financial officer and vice president of finance, Tim Lee-Thorp has been named vice president of marketing and Donald Shimizu has joined as the vice president of operations. These newly created positions reflect the company's transition from a start-up venture into a strategic technology supplier to medium and large enterprises.
"A company's ability to execute drives its success and provides the opportunity for continued growth," said Stephen Rizzone, president and chief executive officer of SyncVoice Communications, Inc. "Every member of our executive team has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to effectively manage aggressive growth strategy."
Bringing more than twenty-five years of financial and legal expertise, SyncVoice's new chief financial officer and vice president of finance, Thomas Iwanski, has served as chief financial officer at nine other technology companies, including IP3 Networks Inc., Cognet, Inc. and NetVantage Inc. (Nasdaq: NETVA). He has extensive experience in public and private financing, strategy development and M&A transactions.
SyncVoice's new vice president of marketing, Tim Lee-Thorp, has 20 years of expertise in marketing, product management and business development. Lee-Thorp developed and led the marketing teams that took Vitalink Communications, Network General Corporation and Remedy Corporation public. He was also the marketing executive at Picazo Communications, acquired by Intel, and managed corporate repositioning efforts at RouteScience Technologies that resulted in a successful acquisition by Avaya. Lee-Thorp also worked in the office of the CTO at Nortel Networks.
As vice president of operations and support, Donald Shimizu brings more than 15 years of operations, product management and engineering expertise in the telecommunications and supply chain management industries. One of Shimizu's specialties has been building and managing diverse, high-performance teams at developing companies, ranging from 10 engineers and technicians at Pulse Engineering to more than 100 engineers, technicians and assembly-line workers at Fujitsu Microelectronics. Before his current role at SyncVoice, Shimizu was the vice president and general manager responsible for IP3 Networks Inc., an early-stage network access appliance company focused on the Fortune 2000 market.
"Converging voice communications onto data networks makes comprehensive management of the overall environment vital," Rizzone said. "This trend fuels our growth, and expanding our executive team allows us to maximize our market opportunity."
