Unified Communications

At Communicado, a major focus of our mission is supporting real-time, person-to-person collaboration in every form currently used by business today. In our view, supporting that collaboration means making it seamless so that more business gets done without undue stress over supporting the technology behind the communications method.

Forrester Research recently published a paper on Unified Communications1 which described the readiness of many small and medium-sized businesses to begin adopting Unified Communications, and also presented their view of the components that are involved.

Forrester reported that:

Our products are available hosted, licensed, or as a franchised service management offering

The Forrester diagram is presented below, showing all of the communication devices from landlines to PDAs and video conferences, then illustrating how those types of communications are routed in a Unified Communications scenario over a transport network and on to either real-time communications or messaging communication paths.
